And I should say those pics give new meaning to the term "bathtub chassis".
Those wheels are not the originals, right?
I had a set and think they were from "Drastic"
that belt pitch looks the same as on a trackmaster's turbo-glide.
why's the moter on the wrong side? Big, spur on the outside, belt on the inside... the moter should be on the same side as on a triumph transmission unles that red endbell moter is a reversed rotation one

I noticed that too. Maybe the designers were left-handed?
Ah Yes, here in the states it was distributed by Dialed Racing Products. It was called the Lightning. I ran for them for several years, and did som R&D on that car. The one pictured was an earyl version because the tranny/motor plate is backward. THey quickly changed it after I told them they would never be able to sell it that way . The belt was too long in the tranny, and skipped like crazy. The shocks are poor in quality, but work rather nicely, and are "Big Bore" style. And yes, those are the stock rims. -Jeff
Hey, that's two of those rare cars with the same wheels! If they aren't the originals then that's the biggest coincidence I've seen in a long while. I have a new set of those rims and was wondering what they were.
If you can push a screwdriver through a rusty sheetmetal panel, you might be able to remove the rust with laser, but you'll still be able to push a screwdriver through it.
Got this with a YZ-10 and its very mint, too good to bash, looks like its been run a couple of times and shelfed.
Going to restore and fit 2.2 pepper pot rims, more excited about the old school Tekin 411P and reciever that im fitting too.

There are needle rollers that run against the slack side of the belt for each pulley. Apparently this prevents belt skipping, allowing for low belt tension and reduced overall rolling resistance.
I am thoroughly impressed!
As I have been reminiscing about the British heatsink ESC era, and steadily collecting up a few Demon and Nosram esc's, I have started also looking into Laser offerings, mainly due to a build I am working on which originally pictured in late 80's...

For comparison, here's the earlier pre-FET Laser Compact (i believe it to be this model or very similar), the layout is the same as above with the relays on the opposite side of the board.
So I love vintage RC models. Been building and bashing and racing since the mid 80's. Over the past few years I've built and restored a few Tamiya oldies, and a few RC10s. Mostly cars I had or wanted when I was younger, but all off roaders. Recently...
I used one of these for many years back in the day - probably my fave charger. Oh so simple.... I recently picked up this pair - one from the legend that is Richard Isherwood. He told me Glyn Peglar had revised the thermal sensor bulb on it to...

On the PC1 the red light comes on when you connect the pack and press the button then the green light comes on when it peaks. I assume the PC3 is the same but haven't tried it.
My collecting seems to be reaching a natural end (but not my projects). I have quite a few different types of cars but my main interest has always been and remains 2WD race spec buggies. With this in mind I would like some...
Well, how could I turn down a shelfer boxed that's Purple

I missed out on a NIB mantis a couple months back: some small shop had promotions running but when I finally got an opportunity to go by during opening hours, they were forever closed. In stock form they are really crappy cause of the springs-only,...
