Mystery tab on Kyosho Optima

Guys, I've often looked at this part of the Optima's rear gearbox side-plate and wondered what it was for, often meaning to ask but always forgetting...does anyone know WTF the purpose of this tab was for?? :?

I guess I'd ought to know that if I had a Javelin! D'oh... :lol: I've built every other car based on that chassis - Optima, Turbo Optima & Salute, but never had the opportunity to build a Javelin.

In that cars advanced age, its probably a tumor. Send it to Scr8p, he's doing amazing things with associated surgical prosthetics in Kyoshos these days :wink:

Same looking tab on the Ultima motor plate. Also that one used as a tube frame mount on the first Ultima.
