Re: Turned 40 today...
Happy 40th man!!
Enjoy the true midlife!
Funny how a lot of us here are right about that age. Only 5 months to go for myself. Cannot wait as I have a guys limo night out planned... ALL kinds of fun we will have, oh yes we will.
Reg, both good and bad for me personally, the last year has really felt like a midpoint in life. More of a period to reflect and recalculate moving forward hopefully with hindsight in tow.
No kidding... As I'm typing this, the song 'midlife crisis' by Faith No More is on XM.

Re: Turned 40 today...
I had no issues hitting 35, or 37...I was in good health, I was active in sports, I still had hair covering my head...but once I hit 38, that was an unavoidable, impossible-to-ignore fact that 40 was no longer a distant point on the horizon, it was coming right at me. In my youth I always regarded 40 as being "old".Charlie don't surf wrote:I'm still 4 years out, but how bad could it be?
Now I'm 5 years north of that benchmark of oldness. The hair is pretty much doing the UFO crop ring so I just shave it off. Fortunately my parents gave me good genes so I still have a young face with almost no wrinkles, and I'm still healthy & active in sports. I don't like being 45 because now if I look at the pretty young thangs, I'm considered a dirty ol' man.
But, at least I can still play with toy cars.

Re: Turned 40 today...
Thanks guys... 40 is just a number to me.
I've got my health, a great job, and a wonderful wife. Life is good. Plus, I'm at the maturity level of a 16 year old. I still laugh at fart jokes.

But you quit smoking, I think? That's a major accomplishment.scr8p wrote:happy b-day.
