Hey I think this may just be the first time I've visited this section. It's a nice setup you got going on here. :)

I'm here because I know there's been some unrest with the voting situation. I don't know if it's necessary or even wanted but I found a modification for the votes that might be of interest.

It offers features such as:

Ability to hide poll votes till end of poll.
Limit voting to people who posted in thread.
Can specify poll end by date and time, as well as duration.
Ability to mark a poll as "I don't want to vote" so you can directly see the results.

Things of that nature.

If this is something that may help, I have no problem installing it.

It would be interesting if nobody knew till the poll closed.

Interesting indeed. But the immediately curious need-to-know part of me says that would be pure insanity not knowing. Should we test the waters with a one vote blind poll on the subject?
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Yeah, if we cant view results after we vote, the month will be too boring.

I just put up a comment in the chats about being able to enter on another month following a win. I must admit last year i won January and immediately regretted entering as i had no zest towards BOTM for the rest of the year. In the meantime i built several cars and then had to pick which one to enter at the beginning of this year.... was kind of coerced into having a 'Hotshot-off' which was great, but there were other builds i had completed prior to that which will now have to wait until 2022.... by which time i will probably have a bigger backlog of viable entries.

It is Build of the MONTH after all.

Just an idea. It might help to gain some forum momentum. I also think one of the mods should be allowed to canvass on the Fb page and maybe drop in a few choice rotating pics of the entrants every few days to drum up some interest.

Maybe we could have a pop up that every time you log in to 10talk it says “don’t forget to vote for BOTM” and if you get within 3 days of the end and haven’t voted it will lock you out unless you vote. For those that don’t log in very often, maybe spam them with emails mid month or so reminding them of the contest. If any of the users have passed on, maybe we could send flowers with a card requesting they try to get their vote in.

It is the build of the "month". But do you want 4-5 guys potentially filling up the year end contest? Let's face it. Not everyone can build something that will win. But there are guys that consistently can. That rule was put in place to keep that from happening and spread the love around, so to speak. The one year I had 2 cars and another guy had 2 cars in the finals. I wasn't good with that.

But hey.... I'll put it up for a vote. But only if some of you guys stop berating people about the "importance" of voting each month. It's getting old.

I guess if you can win more than once a year but had to choose only one entry for build of the year then the runner up in the month you don't enter could be entered for that month ..... It gets complex but could work , really don't think it's good to have one person having multiple entry's in build of the year , it's a fun contest that has no prizes after all .
Maybe a side contest for least votes of the month/year ?
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
