RC12LW threaded front axle

My RC12LW uses E-clips to mount the front wheels, but I saw pictures of vintage RC12 with nuts on front wheels (which I find more clever). Is it DIY or was it an option offered by some manufacturers back in the days?

Many companies made them- I think the RJ speed 5364 are the most readily available. Lunsford had some last time I was there as well.

Does anyone know if the outer piece of a XXX-S and a XXX-4 Front axle are the same.
I know they have different part # in the manual ,but I'm thinking that's because they are sold as axle sets.

Somewhat related question...

Does the JRX-S LCD rebuild kit fit the XXX-4 LCDs?

Looking at pics, the axle and bone interface look the same, but the JRX barrel looks much shorter. Is that an illusion because it is also thicker than the X4 version?

I'd like to find out how much shorter the T4 inline axle (7459) is compared to the gt wide axle (7222), and also how much longer the t4 axle is compared to the standard rc10/10t/ds axle (6220). Any help would be appreciated.

What's the difference between A-1005 and A-1012? Is it that the A-1012 uses a set screw to secure the king pin? I want to do the big axle conversion on an RC10...a'la Kinwald.

This was my experience based on the conditions that I raced in. If your track isn't very dusty, then you shouldn't experience this issue.

I'll give the vets here yet another opp to give me a hard time, have at it, but SERIOUS question. Did anyone like CRP, etc. make a front axle set for the RC10 that allowed the installation of Kyosho sized/bearing wheels? I know there was a Tamiya...

yeah, worst case, a wrap with scotch tape will close up the approx .002 difference and make a nice tight fit. :mrgreen:

Not sure about shock length. I was under the impression I could run droop at lower than level with wheels off the ground. Under full sag, full running weight,, with limited droop due to bone length, the sag would seriously cut into the over all...
