My Amain order has shipped and is showing movement, so a couple of days before they said they would. Shipped from Charlotte, so that is nice. And with only a 4 day delay or so, I will gladly give my retail markup to Amain instead of AE.

I don't get the paper manual grind. I haven't built a car actually using a paper manual in 30+ years. :?
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Agreed, but it is a 'want' more than a 'need'. I see it is a huge missed opportunity on their part. Could have really made the kit unique by including a fancied up manual, possibly serialized to the chassis, etc.

Agree on the manual and missed opportunity with some cool extras.

I missed the initial notification so didn’t place an order until 4/30 when I found out. Still says “awaiting fulfillment“ today. Hopefully it will actually be fulfilled!!

Anyone else in same boat with a late-placed order?

I still cannot believe for this price they didn't even print out a manual and staple it. What the heck?

Amazed they didn't re-release some special ESC & Motor like Kyosho did but thankfully I should have some from back in the day. Just hope they sell parts but I have this sneaking suspicion they will not.

Hopefully someone will start a thread of "Re-release aftermarket" items for these.
I am waiting to get trashed by taxes also I had figured 77$ but there has to be a brokerage fee in there also?

Exactly, if we eliminate everything we don't actually "need", the whole hobby goes out the window.

Actually, if we eliminate everything we don't "need", the aftermarket would return and it'd be like the 80's/90's again!

When the 2013 Classic, the 2014 World's car and all parts for these cars were discontinued, we complained: "Why doesn't AE do another re-release?"

AE responded and gave us the RC10 CC and we complained -- again: "Why doesn't AE make us an RC10 that we can actually run?"

And AE responded and gave us the 40th anniversary car -- and, again, we complain: "Why is there no paper manual and what's up with the color of the plastics?"

And, I'm one of the biggest complainers.

If I want the perfect RC10 kit exactly the way I remember it, then I'll probably need to find a vintage one NIB.

These "made in Taiwan" RC10's are facsimiles. AE hasn't made a gold pan RC10 in 30 years.

I've watched an unboxing video and I think the 40th, while not perfect, offers the collector some pretty good value overall.

I wrote out a pretty well worded 2-3 paragraph on my opinion on many of these comments, but then just deleted them and decided to wish all a happy Friday!!! :D

You know what would have cost almost nothing and made a huge difference for this guy? The single piece of tissue paper that used to greet you when you opened the box.

My build is now under way. This is my first RC10. Initial thoughts:

1) Tamiya tool is indispensable for ballstud installation
2) Never met an e-clip I’ve liked… ever
3) SAE: I’ve forgotten my fractions
4) Compared to Tamiya, It’s SO nice to pull parts from single bags that match the instructions.

ETA
5) The gold pan is sticky
6) Constantly seeing “40” reminds me Im getting up there in years!

As you were….

Are you finding metric or standard tools to be the correct tools to be used. Or is it mixed?

Standard. I’m using the kit supplied hex wrenches (gasp!) and they are working just fine. I do like the ability to make slow turns with a lot of hand feel using these small L shaped hex wrenches. I’ve been known to over torque and these plastics are dainty.
