Re: RC4WD 1/18 Gelande 2
Thanks guys
Fabricated a new steering rack with a 3mm ram just to be on the safe side and started on a mount for the rack on the front axle. Also managed to get started on the engine/servo mount. Cables will run in a loop from the servo in under and be clamped to the link arms. Through the front axle up to the steeruing linkage.... at least in theory
Tried to upload photos, but they all uploaded upside down so I'll get back to you on those...

Again, very nice work - you are a master craftsman sir.
BTW - love seeing the 996 in the background. I've come very close to buying a 1:1 on at least a couple occasions -- what a great bike!

Yes, superb work my friend . Digging the steering servo enclosed within an engine block, very slick!

Thanks guys.
At this stage I just wish that it was all done. I've been on this since November last year, but I'm that kind of guy that if I start on something new this will never be completed so... Keeping on brazing and figuring out how to work around tech problems.
I took some black and white pics yesterday and I have to say it looks really good.. looks almost done.

Every moment you've spent on this project shows in the results !
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

It's been awhile. I disassembled the hole car/truck to prepare all the individual parts for final finish.
Got delivery of the M1.4 countersunk screws for the body panels and have started the transformation from brass bling to steel gray with JAX pewter black.

No matter how I pre-treated och after-treated the brass the oxidation just wouldn't stick. It was fine the first dat and the day after I could smear it off with my thumb.

That's a shame about the surface finish but it still going to look awesome !

Paint job looks nice, did you use a "sealer or topcoat"?

Thank man,NomadRacer wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 8:50 am Paint job looks nice, did you use a "sealer or topcoat"?
At this time its only primer and paint. Have some ideas of waterslide decals and after that it will be a semi gloss layer or two.

Fantastic man. I have some 1/43rd scale water slide decals if they would help.
