Thanks guys
Fabricated a new steering rack with a 3mm ram just to be on the safe side and started on a mount for the rack on the front axle. Also managed to get started on the engine/servo mount. Cables will run in a loop from the servo in under and be clamped to the link arms. Through the front axle up to the steeruing linkage.... at least in theory
Tried to upload photos, but they all uploaded upside down so I'll get back to you on those...
Thanks guys.
At this stage I just wish that it was all done. I've been on this since November last year, but I'm that kind of guy that if I start on something new this will never be completed so... Keeping on brazing and figuring out how to work around tech problems.
I took some black and white pics yesterday and I have to say it looks really good.. looks almost done.
Every moment you've spent on this project shows in the results !
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

It's been awhile. I disassembled the hole car/truck to prepare all the individual parts for final finish.
Got delivery of the M1.4 countersunk screws for the body panels and have started the transformation from brass bling to steel gray with JAX pewter black.
The colour came out nice on those parts , looking good !

No matter how I pre-treated och after-treated the brass the oxidation just wouldn't stick. It was fine the first dat and the day after I could smear it off with my thumb.
That's a shame about the surface finish but it still going to look awesome !

I think I waited about 10 weeks for my JPS Clod axles to arrive. I called about once a week. Every time I called, he picked up the phone. You should call and pester him.
Nice looking toyota! I just finished restoring my hilux body for my scx10. For tires I picked up a set up on ebay, they were super soft and sticky, and clear the mud out very well. For wheels I run the rc4wd steelies, which look perfect on these...
Hey guys just picked up two of these kits over a month ago. Built one and put the other up for the time being. I was very meticulous when I painted the body making sure the thing looked right when I was done. I had to use stuff called bare metal...

I'd been thinking about getting a Trail Finder 2 since they came out, finally I bought one. All it took was a hiking trip up a creek at a nearby state park and I was like, man a scale crawler would be so much fun on a hike like this! So here it is....

Thanks guys. I really dig it. It is a TON of fun. At work today all I could think about was that I wish I was going for a nice walk thru the woods or down by the river with it.
Jeff, the rubber mirrors came off of ebay. I had to add the reflective...
I got this kit a few weeks ago. The build was straightforward and took just a few hours. A lot of the tedious stuff like the axles and transmission was already built.
The Mojave body is very similar to a Tamiya Hilux and it allows for lighting,...
