Thanks, but it's alright, the pistons are already coming from Tamiya America.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 1:44 amI just noticed this part.
If they are for me, I have pistons. I was about to offer them to you.
So, what did you do RC today?

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I have more RC10L rollers than I need, so the one with the extra holes in the chassis is becoming a street runner. Need to work out a battery hold down (not tape or Velcro strap) and a longer bumper to the front edge of body.

If it's going to be a street runner, some rubber tires would be cool.
I've been looking at the CRC GTR wheels and tires. I think that Tamiya F1 rubber tires fit the wheels as well.

Today I took this....

Just a quickie. The tires and wheels arent really right for it, but the best non-new stuff I had in my box. Got a few parts to source or make still. It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

I am not quite sure what was wrong with the original!
The chain adjuster system worked out awesome from appearances!

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Yeah the fit is really quite nice, I made minimal changes. Shockingly, there is a lot of clearance for the steering and the tensioner both.

I hadn't looked into tires yet but would like rubber or rubber capped tires. Thanks for the suggestions.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 11:37 pm If it's going to be a street runner, some rubber tires would be cool.

If you want to play with printing some I can send you my files for my stock car wheels that fit Tamiya F1 rubber tires. You'd want to redesign the wheel style but the fit and offsets should be good.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
That would be great. I'm not familiar with these tires so it would be nice to see a design that works with them.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Found a nice pair of early JRX2 4 rib upper trailing arms(bottom pair in pic) and installed them on my JRX2. These had a problem rubbing the springs and were later replaced by the 3 rib arms. Also installed 4 black aluminum screws for the transmission instead of the later steel ones. Small details..trying to make this Jrx2 build even better with early parts.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Visited a LHS that had some parts I thought I absolutely needed, so I probably do. I think my 10T will be getting a shock upgrade.
. .
The LHS owner had a mostly cherry A stamp buggy with original wheels and tires that wasn't for sale. It looked well cared for except for some poorly done extra steering servo mount holes, and it must have taken a hard landing once because the chassis was banana'd a bit. The owner wasn't in the store so I couldn't really make an offer for the not fof sale buggy. It was a chassis away from being really nice though.

I sailed my DF65 on a lake in a state park close to my house. If anyone knows why this is so much fun, please let me know.

One of the good things reorganizing my 3D printing space at home is that it gives me the possibility to organize better with the rc storage just by using the space left by the Ender 5+...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them
