Re: Clodbuster
Does your truck have a mechanical speed control? Also, does it have a 4AA holder in the truck for the radio, are those batteries good? And a dumb question but possibly overlooked, if the above is true did you switch on the radio and the truck before plugging in the battery?

Here is the view from top/side....there is no onboard battery box, and yes the remote and truck are on when I plug in the battery.

Re: Clodbuster
The MSC servo is a little out of adjustment, causing the MSC to be in drive when it should be in neutral. You can try moving the servo horn to the next tooth on the servo gear, or adjusting it on the radio.
The MSC arm should be perpendicular to the length of the truck when it is in neutral.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: Clodbuster
The receiver also looks like it has had a 4 cell AA battery pack previously connected to it. The value in that is being able to control the servos even when the main battery gets low.

Re: Clodbuster
Could be but it looks like a BEC switch setup instead. I think the OP needs to try both ways. I have set mine up both ways but I really prefer the battery box for reliability.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 5:08 pm The receiver also looks like it has had a 4 cell AA battery pack previously connected to it. Re: Clodbuster
From the original manual. It is just power directly from the main battery, for use with a BEC receiver.

Re: Clodbuster
Do you have bearings in it? Those are a nice upgrade. Also an electronic speed control is nice.

Re: Clodbuster
This is my new build Clod. Not as wild as others but I definitely see the fun in bashing around with a Clod.

I didn't think of adding a light kit powered through the receiver. I might have to consider that. Which places are you lighting up? Any pics?
