So, what did you do RC today?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

This morning I got some work in on the Hilux. Installed a new spur gear I printed to match (better) the incorrect pinion that is installed. Final wired the motor and got it installed. Then installed the servos and got all the linkages setup semi-well.

Started a rebuild of this Samurai that's been in a box apart for quite a few years now. Gearboxes are impossible so I had one 3d printed in clear resin. Not fully transparent but looks pretty cool and will be a good placeholder until I can locate a fresh original

Managed to fit one of those $20 Injora transmissions on a RC10 (going to be a truck). I had to clearance the gear cover a little, to allow more upward movement of the half-shafts.

The half-shafts came off a ECX Torment and the carriers are from a Traxxas Stampede. Both fit without any modification themselves but the control arms require clearanceing.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Are those eagle front arms?
Do they happen to fit on an rc10? I have a set that looks a lot like that from a parts car.

Had a little time to play around with my new mini spot welder. Made up some cells to fit into a Tamiya hump pack. It is such a tight fit in the case that I hade to remove the skins from the cells, and only insulate where needed, so that is why it looks all trashy with the tape. It will look just fine in the case. :D Fascinating part is that it is taking a charge and the smart charger didn't sound off any alarms!

Yep, it is literally just a rechargeable battery that acts like a mini spot welder. There are bunches of them on Amazon that are very similar, and probably all made in the same factory. I chose this one because it has 11 "gears" of adjustability. I just imagine the designers sitting around and one saying that they should range the voltage discharge on a standard 1 - 10 scale, and one guy popping up and saying it should go to 11. And then you know the rest of the conversation..............
