THAT'S IT!!! Yes, a fake VW motor. It was so obvious. Thank you. A fake VW motor. A highly detailed 3d printed version is available from shapeways (I've seen them in Tamiya Sand Scorcher builds) but a better, lighter and more durable alternative for a racer like this one would be a simple vacuum formed lexan VW motor. Oh, and it would need a 4-into-1 pipe with a megaphone style muffler. I wonder if anyone has ever tried this before? I reckon it could even be incorporated into the back of the body shell. We should speak to the guys at TBG about this. A purpose made B1M body that has a fake VW motor as the back half of the body. :D

I've seen a bug engine on a body somewhere, don't remember where.

Pic showing the wheels. My old point and shoot camera has been acting a bit strange, fuzz pics. I'll try a new card or retire it. :(

I have an AE Protech body, will see if that will suit me...

Yip, looks great! I really like the wheels. Is it just the photo or is that wing really BIG? Should provide lots of down-force. :D Anyway, everything looks fantastic.

IMHO, you just can't go wrong with a Protech body but I also like the Turbo Mirage. When I was building the 93 Worlds rere car, I couldn't decide which to go with so I made one of each and put the Protech on the vintage car.

XLR8 - Thanks for posting the body pics. I'll get a Mirage before I get to cutting any Lexan. Yes, it's a big wing

Just an observation, the JC Racing wheels are designed for the original front axles, not the re-re worlds extended axles. It appears the front may be a bit wide. They may 'swing' front front wheels/tires instead of rotating them.

mikea96 wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2017 9:35 pm That looks awesome! You need to change out those front axles for standard ones since those wheels are different offset then rc10 worlds front wheels.
I was going to say that something looked wrong with those axles. Anyway, stunning car! Initially I wasn't sold on the red transmission case but you made it work, it looks really good. :)

Is there a fix for that? Really want to be able to use these wheels.

Yeah just the old school axles- 6220’s

If you can’t find those, 6220b is the blue version

Gee Nomad, it's too bad you don't know someone who has a lathe and some titanium rod. Ti front axles would be very cool!!!

I almost told him to turn his down, but the thread would be a problem, even with a bushing they would stick out pretty far
