Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Losi's have been my thing for far far too long... I still curse Losi for releasing these as now it is ALL I can think about
As for the mini T springs being longer, that might be good, the stock springs look far too short if you have to have the collar dang near at the cart for preload..
Adding to my post, slowly inching towards the Junior Junior 2 lol
I need to find more black e-clips for the hinge pins, and I have to figure out what size the e-clips for the bell cranks are as none of the spares for the Jrx2 has them... also none of the parts sets have any of the nuts required as well lol

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Well dangit, everything is going just swell and then you turn a corner and run smack dab into a roadblock. I have taken down the chassis for the moment as when I had everything together for todays photos I was unable to turn the bellcranks. Turns out the thicker Junior shocktower with a cap head screw took up all the space and the bellcranks wont turn so I have to move them back... grrr.. On the other hand the h arms were a pain to model as they are sided and NOTHING is square lol. I have no way of measuring if there is an angle difference between the hinge pin drillings but I got the angle for the lean of the arm about spot on. I printed them on their side so layer lines are perpendicular to the holes for most strength, seems to have printed just fine.
Those rear arms almost perfectly scaled to the mini I only needed to slightly narrow the opening on the hub side by a small fraction of a milimeter.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Your goodies should arrive tomorrow and you can compare stuff. The rear arms were a giant pita and I modeled them close but far from exact. The offset I came up with was 1.6° and no toe built into the arm- although I was able to measure a tiny bit of toe OUT by maybe 1/4 of a degree. Seemed like it should be 0° so that’s what I went with.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
That is awesome Jeff! I have been up way late again working on hubs this time. I am a bil leary on the lack of meat where the ball stud goes I may have to reduce the number of holes... but I dun wanna :p
Also I have no drive shafts or rear wheel bearings yet so cant actually test how the bearings fit lol. I came up with two separate ideas for the hinge pin spacers that mimic the stock Losi ones one a snap fit one a complete circle.
These will most definitely need to be printed on their side to have any hope of strength in the hinge pin hole and ball stud mount, but it is what it is. I guess I will test it once my test chassis is done printing.. again.
Also I am maybe thinking I should move my ramblings into a separate thread as I seem to be hogging the chat at times >.>

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I left the carrier as close to original as I could and I agree with all those holes the chances of breakage are high but it just looks “right” with em.
On the clips, I left them open but not really snappable. I wanted the look but wasn’t concerned about the functionality since we don’t have the correct pins for them anyway.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I made them clippable because I needed them to be spacers so it made sense
Well I guess everything I need for the Junior that I can make is made, I guess I will look into making lxt parts out of madness... any chance I could buy a custom set of shocktowers for a lxt? Lol
Edit: I just put the hubs up on Cults, the hinge pin should be reamed by a t7 torx but I have no idea how hard or easy the bearings will fit as I do not yet have any of those parts.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
how thick is the section with the holes , could they be not all the way through just shallow blind holes so they look right but are a little stronger ?GoMachV wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 9:56 am I left the carrier as close to original as I could and I agree with all those holes the chances of breakage are high but it just looks “right” with em.

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Well a good thing I started making LXT parts lmao
We will see, on the plus side if they do break it only takes a few minutes to print another

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Am I nuts? I am starting to feel like I am nuts lol.
Here's a pic for you Jeff, Shock towers are top notch! I would Place the sticker on the chassis but I have to reprint it as this one I printed before I found the bellcrank flaw
There are 3 major issues with this build.. There are no Mini versions of the xl shocks for the rear, there are no appropriate 1/16 scale truck tires, and body might be difficult lol

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I measured the wire at .053” which is 16ga wire. For now I cut the stock wire in half and rebent.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Finally got the Factory Works Pro rear shock tower installed. The lower middle shock holes seem to be ideal. At first I tried the lower outer holes like the Proformance manual recommends..but the springs rubbed the trailing links. Now to start trimming the body…

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Yeah, that shock tower is really more suited to the 1.2 inch XL shocks which we don't yet have... It is an issue for my LXT build as well. With just the two sizes we have available I think we are good for Jrx2 (obviously), early JrxT, the Juniors, and maybe the Pro SE without running into shock length issues. :/BattleTrak wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:27 pm Finally got the Factory Works Pro rear shock tower installed.
