Unusual Solar flare down here,
Decent long duration plasma exposure last night.
Southern lights or Aurora Australis as opposed to Northen hemisphere Aurora Borealis
These were from Opunaki Beach, New Plymouth New Zealand.
Have a great weekend all.

That is really beautiful. :) There was an Aurora Borealis here two nights ago. It was my first time seeing that in person. I also saw something odd moving across the sky during it. Super high up barely discernible to the naked eye, it looked like a star was slowly moving across the sky in a straight line for 5-10 seconds and then disappeared. Maybe a satellite? Never saw anything like that before either. (I'm not saying it was aliens, but it was probably aliens.) :P

Sunset + lighthouse from our vacation home for the week. Still weirds me out that I can be on the east coast of the US, and get a sunset pic over the Atlantic Ocean.

New Englanders are just flat crazy! Sunday morning, 0700, 39*F, and there is a line at the boat ramp! I don't take my boat out if it is below 70*F. :)

I feel it's due to the environment here. There isn't that many months a year of nice/warm weather, so you get accustomed to doing regular activities in less than favorable conditions.

On my way to work. I found it interesting because you don't generally see fog so isolated to one area around here. I assume the fields down there were releasing moisture during the dramatic temperature swings we get this time of year. But what do I know, I'm no Scientician.

This happens a lot of the main road just outside my village. Just runs down off the fields onto the road , covers it for 50 yards then it's clear again .

Started going through the pics from the past week in Rhode Island, and these are just a few from mostly the house where we stayed. We stayed right at a point, so had the Atlantic to the west of us, and an inlet cove with marina just to the east. If it wasn't a constant 20+mph wind, I would have hundreds of pics, but the breeze kept it frosty enough to stay inside for the most part.

This is Walden Pond, that Thoreau would write about. It you look hard enough, there are anomalies in the water. Those are people, swimming, with no suits on, in ~50*F weather. Did I mention that New Englanders are nuts?

And the voyager of our trip! My relatively new to me XC70. TBH, you can play punch-bug with these in Rhode Island; the folks there seem to love them! About 4 weeks before this trip, this car gave me a "no oil pressure, stop engine" warning on the dash, and I thought it was a goner. Dropped the pan and found a clogged oil pick up tube, and no metal in the oil; so got it cleaned up and put back together. Put close to 2K miles on it in the past week, and love this thing!
