Cvd for rc10 original

I need a cvd set for and rc10 vintage build. I tried using the MIP cvd set and while it's a quality item, it is either too sort or I need to limit my shock travel length. I'm using the 3/16" axles and need a longer dog bone/center shaft. JC Racing has a +2 but there's got to be an alternative to waiting 3 weeks on a maybe. I've been scouring this site and am coming up short. Any info or link would be greatly appreciated.

I use that Custom Works Short kit (CSW7210) and with the shims it has, I get good outdrive engagement. It is an MIP CVD kit that has been repackaged as Custom Works.

For your MIP CVD setup, where are the shims? Are they all on the wheel side of the axle? Maybe some they need to be moved to push the dogbone further into the outdrive. What sort of condition are the outdrives in? Any wear at the ends? Are you running any spacer in the rear shocks? They are supposed to have one per the manual (not mx possible stroke length).

I recall reading that the new diff was a different width. Are the reissues MIP shafts built for those?

the width related to between the bearings and its only a couple shims worth. AE rere CVA's were notoriously short, I hope MIP didnt just copy those

I have the shims on the axle side in an attempt to get as much engagement as possible. The outdrives are NOS and in new condition. As far as spacer, I'm in the works of putting limiters inside the shocks if need be , but want to avoid that for full (or near full) articulation. A longer mid shaft would make it right. Measurements on MIPs other cvd mid shafts would be my next move. Thanks

Even with the original dogbones you need to significantly limit the down travel. What rear shock shafts are you running? The original 1.32" shafts required a 5/8" internal spacer. Also make sure you have your camber set (usually around -1 to -2 degrees) as this effects engagement as well.

Great advice. I'm running b6 13mm shocks 23/27.5 front/ rear.
