Picked this up today and could really use some help tracking down the components of this car. The previous owner, who owned a hobby shop in Ontario, Ca way back when, told me that the body and exhaust are hand made one of a kind, which is why I...

I knew it'd do well with the body and exhaust. But I was still surprised. probably the most I've seen an 1/8th scale go for.
I've always loved this car. Kitcar, a local shop that is long gone, had one in their window built up. It looked amazing. Fast forward to about a year ago I found one new in box. Went with a set of TRC tires and Andys Cougar GTO body. Pretty happy...

Xlr8, I received the shocks today, thank you! I will build up the second one and get them mounted up. I really appreciate it!
Wow, a day early even. I mailed them Thursday from Alabama. Anyway, glad I could help.
Back in the day, I use to race Schumacher Cougar 2wd buggies. I actually started out with a Tamiya Madcap but quickly realised I needed something more competitive. Saving up my paper round money plus various pocket money I purchased a Cougar and...

I know. In fairness I didn't think it would get that bad but soon realised it would. Still they are meant to be run and the design is pretty good in that most of the sensitive parts like electrics and diffs/belts are well protected. The car has been...
This is for sale near me... I've never had a Corally, but I've heard some decent things about some of them.
Is this a good one? He says it's been in the box since he built it in '91...

It is a great car.
They made a carbon fiber chassis after this one which was lighter and with more FWD bite.
But this one is the first.
It is a big SP12 Which was several times European Champion !
These are popping up every once in a while, not super vintage but I didn't see any threads on them so here ya go!
I didn't take pics as I went but I will say this-
The good:
Standard bearings- (10 BB's, 16 bushings- lacks (6) 3/16x5/16 and (10)...

Somehow I got a hold of one of these cars when they were actually in production. I raced it for a while, and I didn't have the durability issues that were mentioned previously. I think the only big problem I had as far as breakage was a shock tower....
This spring/summer (2013) has been dedicated to my X11! Until this year my runners have all been vintage (well at some stage, over twenty years ago now, I actually drove modern cars). Although I have driven a few of the later rides I never had one...

Dam that sucks i wantted to ask them a question about one their parts.
a Facebook friend of mine showed me pics of a couple MRP kits he found at an old hobby shop that has, in his words, been going out of business since 1975 lol. He was able to wade through garbage and dog poop soiled carpet to find them. He then told...
Alight, I've been meaning to get a boat since moving to a house with an inground pool about five years ago. Well I finally won one yesterday that met all the criteria I was looking for. :D Now I have a few problems. The first one is can anybody...

Sounds like quite the drama, lol.
Water wont leak into the boat through the rudder as long as it's above the water line, same with the flex cable/stuffing box.
Picked this up today with a small collection I bought. Any input from you guys would be great on this one. It came with a bunch of paperwork including the manual, newsletter, parts list, etc. All the dates are 1976. Does that ring true for the age...
I've been interested in making a replica of one of these FF cars for a while. The main problem I've ran into is what type of body it is that they use. Does anyone know what this body is or where to get one?
This also was available from academy. I saw a nib one in a hobbyshop about 5 years ago... And left it where it was even though I have a small collection of academy cars.
I was racing the Kyosho Stinger MK2 at our local track when it made it's debut. So I ordered one of the 1st models.
Only time I've seen this model on Ebay, came up when I found the Paris pipe, lasted about a day $120 less motor and pipe, must of...
I had a chance to dig out some boxes of goodies over at Barry Raborn's house last night. Barry was the owner of both Bullet and Raborn Racing products. I took a few pictures but they aren't the greatest since they are from a cell phone. Anyways,...

That truck is sitting at Barry's house now. It wouldn't do all that well on a touring track. The motor is offset left and up high. It is really intended to be only a dirt car. I have drastically updated it to bring it up to modern levels. Barry even...
Starting a thread about an interesting project I found some weeks ago, the Buri Racer 1/8 scale.
It is not a vintage car but basically based on the design of early 1/8 scale 4WD onroad cars as the Kyosho Fantom 20IS 4WD and the SG VCS 4WD of the...

On some tracks yes and it depends.
1/10 gas cars usually are slower. But the Buri is not a 4WD Pro10 car, the Pro10 car uses a more or less limited suspension depending on design where the Buri is 4WD but a pure old style pancar.
The Buri shines...
Some of you may have seen pics of my two-tone real-size volvo amazone, or my fenderless 1:10 sedan from the late thirties... well they are both gone and I wanted something with the same spirit again.
And this is what I came up with:...

Absolutely fantastic project. Beautiful job.
If your looking for more toe in the rear you could use the 2016 Optoma rear carriers as they have adjustable sleeves. I will be using a set in my lazer zx5 sct eventually.
Ok so I've been away from the site for a bit. I've been dumping money into the big oval car and selling off my collection. Then I was sucked back into the sport and began campaigning my old trusty Raborn LTO car along with trying my hands at a CW...

On hard pack where 2.2 offroad style tires aren't run, the Invencer with the new updates is absolutely a modern car stunner. I'm working on a 2.2 solution for dirt tracks that run them btw. A new dirt oval is going to open here again soon so Barry...
I'm gonna be honest and say if I throw my Reedy Ti 7-2 brushed in it, it will fold in half. But an actual ESC and 2.4ghz would be a nice upgrade, and the ability to run small & light 7.4v lipo would be nice. Plus maybe some oil filled shocks....

These just arrived from China for 7$ shipped. Oil filled, not leaked out, and fully adjustable. 5mm taller body over stock. I'll need to setup some new screws, spacers and washers but they fit. Should help keep the front end on the ground....
Still haven't figured out who made it,(edit....Phin figured it out! American Racing Models- scroll for the rcca review) unless the American Racing sticker is correct. The battery was reheat shrinked, wires cleaned up, and just all around fixed up...

Nice find and rather cool looking chassis layout. They kind of remind of the old BRP racers from back in the day and new ones still available, but in 1/18th scale. I wonder if the tires would work on this one so you could run it with out running the...

Posted pics of this car a couple of times already but since I'm finally doing something with it I figured I'd give it it's own thread. I bought this car off eBay last year and it turned out the seller was Dave Irrgang of IRS (Irrgang Racing...

Looks great! I know what you mean on the paint. I hate painting.
Thanks.
Too much pressure painting old bodies that aren't easy to replace. :x
I should send them to Andy...Dahm's bodies with an Andy's signature would be pretty neat.
Trying to enjoy rccars again. The adonis is mine originally, runner but in excellent shape. The intruder I got second hand. A little history as I think it happened:
The intruder looks like it was built, run, and not much else. Nothing broken or...
About 5 years ago I learned there was such a thing as a Tomy Intruder and since that time I’ve wanted one. After a few attempts to find one over the years I finally scored an NIB Tomy intruder and 2 weeks later, a new built Adonis came...

Sorry in advance guys, but I just had to mention it. All this recent commentary on the Tomy Intruder kept reminding me of this part in the old movie, Top Secret:
I will have a Parma Euro Panther project through the winter. Not restoring an old car but building a car from parts, again.
Got a prototype chassis and some special parts but there are lots of missing parts also. Have an exploded view drawing but...
I´m starting a new project on building one of the early Corally 1/12th cars. Actually I never thought of a Corally project but when digging through some old stuff at a hobbyshop I didn´t found the parts I actually was looking for but some old stuff...

There is some time needed indeed for a project like this but I found it´s more...
Last year I picked up a rather beaten Losi XX with a clean transmission and hydra drive.
This year: I got a sorry-looking XXT for spare parts to fix up the XX. But after cleaning the XXT up, it was in better shape than expected and I just restored...

academy rc cars are mixtures of some different brands like losi, AE, and yokomo. two guys were working for it. one guy left the company around 10 years ago.
Now the company declared they won't make any other rc model.
enjoy the cars while you can,...
Well I finally got around to cracking some bags. I have a fxt parts car but I'm hoping to build this one mostly all from bags.
Very impressed with the diff, it's very smooth and of course the fit and finish are Tamiya quality

Hey guys. Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead, I read in another fxt thread that the dyna blaster body was a fit for this thing and possibly the stadium blitzer. Does anyone know if the wheelbase on the fxt is the same as the blitzer or did...
Since no one has started a thread about this car, well, I think I should. It was a HPI RS4 clone from Japan, released in late 1998 to stake its claim on the touring car throne. I bought one in march 2000 and won a few races with it, something that I...
I've been after one of these cars for quite a while, and Phin recently sent me an auction link to one. It was assembled but never ran, which is exactly what I was looking for other than a NIB kit....
just won this off ebay looks homemade/a prototype?? got it from nick lance which his dad is vernon lance. i was told he raced with bud bartos and two guys named dave and jim back in the day. just sent off a email to bud through his site with the...

Great day on craigslist today! Found a Panther 12 and a Pro Panther from a local racer. Pretty much how they were retired in the late 80's. I had an Oscella body from another member, now I'm down to just needing the street rod to finish out the 1/10...
I would post this in the RC10 section....but the only AE parts are the battery holders :)

Had a dead brick so I figured i could re-pack it. Looks pretty original from the outside. I left the heatsink in place for looks, the speed control inside should be OK as its a very mild stock motor. If it gets hot I may have to get creative

Sadly it has not turned up. I suspect I dumped it as it was chopped and claimed not working
its going to be built off of the tamiya semi frame rails since thats what iam use to using on my custom builds. plus the motor i ordered should fit perfect inbetween the rails, if not than i will have to go with the axial chassis kit which is nicer...
Latest addition from my era, better than the one I sold way back.
Only thing missing was the driver side panel.

Hello All, This is the first time that I am going to chronicle a restoration of a project car. This car was a Kijiji find and it looks like it had a bit of a rough life. Here are some pictures from when I found it.

Well I am glad that you enjoyed my thread and video. I do have a few other cars that I am working on right now. I have already shot video for 2 other cars. The Kyosho Sandmaster and the Kyosho Turbo Raider Pro. I hope to have them together very soon.
